Most recently as Director of Sales & Marketing at Novo Cinemas, Melissa has established the brand as the premium choice for movie lovers. Her result-driven digital strategies across social media, email marketing, public relations, sales, and e-commerce have proven successful.
Melissa has been instrumental in leading digital transformation projects which resulted in positive growth. Her keen eye for change and out-of-the-box thinking has won her awards and accolades such as the Facebook marketing campaign, where CRM data played a crucial role. The strategy was commended and acknowledged by the Facebook team, and they highlighted it as a case-study in Facebook business. Novo Cinemas was also awarded the "Best Implementation of Digital and Social Media Strategy" by Customer Happiness Award for creating an impeccable customer experience journey on the website and social media platforms.
With a substantial regional presence, she has successfully developed and launched multiple new brands, including restaurants, hotels, education and previously worked in the hospitality and advertising industries. Originally from South Africa, Melissa has been a resident of the UAE for 18 years, having attained a Masters in Marketing Communication from Middlesex University, Dubai. A life-long learner and avid reader, she has carved out a successful career working in marketing across multiple verticals and embedding the latest technology. While leading a happy and dedicated team, Melissa is always thinking about the next steps required to drive success and create an engaged customer base.
